Read Me for the Seven Legends Myth TFL Plugin You may as well wonder, ŅWho created this unique, messed-up plugin?Ó This read-me is to tell you a little about myself and my motivation, as well as to give some guidance for the game. Chances are you are more interested in the guidance, so IÕll discuss that first. The seven legends is like a role-playing game, and like the legendary.gor plugin, except I think itÕs better. The combination of your legends working together, if you are creative and work well as a team, can be quite powerful. You will need to become better at using them together as the levels progressively get harder through the game. (Actually, they already reach a rather high level of difficulty after the third or fourth level.) Here is a basic overview of the unitÕs capabilities, and strategic strengths and weaknesses: Alric - Alric is an important unit. He can take a lot of hits, and get healed (unlike the thrall, which can take a lot of hits but canÕt be healed.) He also has the ability to use magic energon pearls, and his magic sword, Balmung. Unfortunately, being semi-retired at the time of this story, he doesnÕt carry around any of these magical items with him. HeÕll have to find them on his journey. HeÕs also a good swordsman, and resists pussing and lightning. Being the tank of a fighter he is, he doesnÕt move too fast, and can barely run faster than a fetch. Harry the Old, Amerindian Shaman (journeyman) - This guy also left his stuff at home, and only initally carries around one root in each level. But, he can heal from a distance of two World Units and he floats. He is one of the slowest units, but if he can get close enough to the melee fight, he delivers a powerful swat with his shovel. Redblade, Berkserk Hero - The standard berserk hero with a few ŅnewÓ cheering sounds. He is much more vulnerable than Alric or TJ, but heÕs also quite a bit faster. Spike, Archer Hero - After this guy warms up, heÕs the fastest archer out there. He also can punch rather quickly, although the punches arenÕt so very strong. He can carry fire arrows and special magical bows. (Look for dead archers around the map; sometimes they carried fire arrows before their demise.) Billy, Dwarven Pathfinder - This guy is your standard pathfinder, like Balin, except he has quite an arm for throwing satchels. Useful for taking out soulless and fetch, although not always accurate. Now, for the highly specialized units, which add special strategy to this plugin. Note that each wight explosion produces only one puss packet, but each puss packet explodes into new wight explosion. (This is from the jimminycricketwights plugin, aka wightsupere) Fast Eddy, dwarven runner - This is a dwarf who set aside his bottles and satchels, to find he could run quite fast. He can pick up all manner of small projectiles and throw them. He also has a melee attack which pusses the enemy (carries some on his glove I guess). He is useful for all sorts of things: scouting, leading the enemy around, fetching roots and magic pearls, and throwing puss packets. TJ Hacker, charmed mithril thrall - This guy is very tough, and slightly faster than other thrall. He blows up like a wight when dieing. Use him to take hits, or let the enemy sorround him only to find themselves wighted when he dies. TJ Hacker is the only legend who may die, because after combat, (after the level is over) the Shaman can summon him (teleport his essence) to wherever the Shaman is. There is an eighth legend, Woz the Wiz, but you can figure him out yourself. This is a travelling coop, in part to rebel against the trendy Ņstay in one place and have em come from all sides.Ó Strategy is different than in other maps, and scouting, planning are important. Most levels involve travelling from one part of the map to the next. Multiplayer info: Star Wars ffa and team maps: the balance between these units is roughly modeled on the balance in the original Myth. I wonÕt bother explaining the attacks and such, just play around for a bit... The long-eared Ja Ja whatevers are fast and good melee fighters, but everyone else has guns. The little pink guys have long range but slow fire. The JediÕs heal and attack with a non-spreading magic attack... etc. IÕm too lazy to work out the dead body projectiles; one of you guys can do it with Amber - not me. Roshambo - rock, paper, scissors. Small ffa with three different types of unit, equal cost, that form a relationship roughly equivalent to the rock, paper, scissors. Rock - duff path, slow moving, fast firing, blows up on death. Paper - jman resists explosives. Scissors - zerk, what else? Vulnerable to the rock but can take out the paper. 7 legends ffa - set on SandmanÕs autumn map. There is a difference between easy, normal, heroic and legendary. IÕd try normal or easy; theyÕre the least hacked. heroic gives each team a special weapon or item; legendary turns all the units into their reflections (most of them - to see what a reflection is, play the coop.) Body count is disabled because this map can be uneven. 7 legends team - IÕm not sure how to balance this one out; it will have to be tested. This is set on a snow version of desert (return of elven kings.) There is an alric sword (Balmung) in the center, two energon pearls and 2 reusable mandrake roots on the north and south sides of the river. You can also try playing normal maps with the plugin on; basically the wight puss becomes chain reactive, the duffs become runners, and the archers become ghost archers. I didnÕt plan it this way, but if itÕs fun, go for it. Credits: (what I can recall...) BungieÕs software for Myth TFL Third party maps (some may be misspelled:) ringofseventeen.gor, Vivid by DeadMan, b_jungle.gor, torpidinium.gor, and two maps by Sandman. Also, Starwars to Myth TFL conversion (see the starwars plugin for its credits, there are too many to list here.) Myth 2 units ported by Project Magma Music excerpts from StravinskyÕs Le Sacre du Printemps, SchoenbergÕs FŸnf OrchesterstŸcke op. 16, and WebernÕs 5 pieces for orchestra. As of this writing the map is a beta, so beta testers will be immortalized in future readmeÕs in return for helpful suggestions.... Special thanks to DeadMan, Losk, and ChrisP for their advice and help.
